The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has learned the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has imposed a $7,000 civil monetary penalty on Good Samaritan Society-Junction City, 416 W. Spruce St., Junction City.
The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey concluded on January 30, 2008.
KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the penalties. The facility has 60 days to file an appeal.
