Governor's Conference Wrap Up Page
The Kansas Department on Aging again offered the most dynamic conference and networking opportunity in the State of Kansas for elders and professionals in the field of aging. The conference focused on ways to address not only the needs and issues facing Kansas elders, but also ways to enhance their lives so that they might age successfully. More than 800 service providers, aging professionals, substance abuse counselors, long term care administrators and staff, mental health professionals, State agency employees, Kansas elders and many others were in attendance.
During the Conference, reporter Bryan Thompson for Kansas Public Radio interviewed Dr. Bill Thomas about the changing trends in adult care. Thomas, who founded the Eden Alternative and Green House programs, was one of the featured speakers at the conference. The interview was broadcast on KANU-FM 91.5. Listen to the interview.
